Ebook UX/UI Design
ABOUT THE PROJECT
This project is a prototype of a colorful childrens illustrated eBook called Similarly Different. The application contains interactive characters objects and items that make the story dynamic.
Project Role
UX/UI Designer
THE PROBLEM
Current eBooks can only provide a simplistic push-button experience for children. This is limiting the experience to users as it doesn't leverage the power of current interactive technology. Users have specific needs and requirements that are not being satisfied with current eBook offerings.
Methods
▌Personas
To better understand my users persona segments were created by gathering data and user interviews.
▌Comparative Analysis
Before proceeding with the project a Comparative Analysis was conducted.
▌Journey Map
To better understand how users would first interact with the eBook a journey map was created.
▌Information Architecture
By creating an Information Architecture diagram it helped me visualize the flow of the application.
Deliverables
▌Interactive Wireframe
"This is fun I like to look for things. It's like Where's Waldo." Reece 8 yrs. old
▌High-Fidelity Prototype
After several iterations of paper and low fidelity prototypes, a high fidelity prototype was created with more detail and color. The prototype was created in Axure.
Alternatively, You can watch a 30-second video below to see some of the features within the prototype.
▌Project Reflection
This product was a challenge as it must have a balance of features for parents and children. I have won the Dean's Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Centennial college in 2018 due to this project.
